We've Arrived!

We are here in Taiwan, checked into the hotel, and have full bellies from the delicious breakfast buffet. Life is good.

Some of you know the wailing and gnashing of teeth involved with getting the flight arrangements we wanted to get on this trip, but all was made better when Jeremy turned to me and said, "Yes, you're right. This is really great." We were both able to sleep at least 7 hours of the flight, and we were well fed and well rested when we met Fion (our agency's guide) at the airport.

We hadn't expected that the hotel would be able to check us in so early (we arrived at the hotel at 7:30 am), but they had the room ready for us already and took us right up to it as soon as we arrived. And when I say "took us up," I mean that literally. The hotel has you sit down to check in because it's more comfortable for the guests that way, and then the person who checks you in personally escorts you to your room, gives you an "introduction" to where everything is, and then makes sure that everything fits your expectations! (Um, so they have totally surpassed expectations at this point...)

We are trying to figure out where we want to go today to tour. We had several good suggestions from the hotel staff and Fion, and are just trying to decide what we want to do today versus what would be good to do on another day. Stay tuned for pictures to reveal our decision....
