Wait some more!

Our hearing is scheduled for today (sometime either in the past 4 hours or the next 4 hours from the time of posting this, thanks to Taiwan being ahead of us on time), so our court process has officially begun.

From here, we hope we don't hear anything for the next 10 days or so. They always say "No news is good news." We will likely hear something in the next 1 - 3 months. Thus far, our court timings seem to be a bit on the slower side of things, but we're hoping that it speeds up from here. It's hard to get the pictures each month and think that she's growing up without us and that it's going to be that much harder for her to leave everything that she knows to come home with us to America!

The next thing that we will hear on the court process (updates will continue monthly, so those could very likely be the actual next thing we hear from our agency) is that we have had a first ruling. After the first ruling, it's about 4 - 6 weeks until we'd get a second ruling, and then it's a few weeks beyond that until we'd get to travel.

In the meantime, we've parsed out some of the items we need to do between now and when Elli comes home so that we feel like we're making progress each day we're waiting. Today Jeremy contacted the American Institute in Taiwan to make sure that they've received our visa application so we can hopefully avoid any last-minute paperwork snafus, and tomorrow we will deal with our new, bright red mode of transportation -- look for blog details to follow!
